Petfinder Question
If you find a pet online and see that it is in another state or somewhere further away, what are the chances of your application being accepted for the dog?
And are you responsible fro travelling up, down, etc to get the dog, or would they transport it to you?
I'm curious cause DH and I found some dogs we like on petfinder, but they're not on LI or NY metro area.

Re: Petfinder Question
It depends on the rescue group. Some only adopt locally dependant on their home check reach. If they cannot send someone to your home easily for approval, then they will not consider your application. Most "about us" pages on their websites will let you know if that is the case though.
Also, if they are far enoough where you have to fly the dog, you will need to make a decision to go & pick it up & fly home with it, or send it in "cargo."
