well, the hospital started them on a feeding schedule of every 2 hours and that was consisntent when we came home, we fed them according to that schedule. If one was sleeping, we woke them up in the beginng, but as time went on they woke up when they wanted to be fed.

Re: ok---nine days to go! what do I need to do?
we were on a schedule from day one - with the help of the NICU... it was every 3 hours and gradually timing between feedings increased. Do what works best for you and your situtation! Congratulations!

Re: ok---nine days to go! what do I need to do?
Mine also were on a feeding schedule b/c of the NICU. First every three than every four. Side note: It took them a while to reach the 2 oz mark to get a pass out, however once they were home, they increased quickly. They wanted to be home. Sorry for the hijack.
Good luck with everything. Do what is best for you and the babies-demand or schedule.

Get some sleep - you will need it!
THe hospital starts the babies on a schedule for you and we just followed that...that babies are usually hungry at about the time of the schedule.
Hang in there.

Re: ok---nine days to go! what do I need to do?
We followed the same schedule as the hospital - every 3 hours, and increased as needed.
One thing I might suggest is bringing a permanent marker to the hospital to mark their (or at least one) of their hats if they are the same sex twins. When I got home and finally printed out the pictures, for most of them - I have no idea who is who!
Like the PP said, get lots of rest now! Good luck! I can't wait to find out what you have!!!

Re: ok---nine days to go! what do I need to do?
Jeannine,
Join me in some rest And this is coming from a completely reformed "Ms Type A" personality.
I figure everything that I can think of is set up. I asked a lot of twin mommies for helpful hints and advice along the way... some who had their twins over 30 years ago some only a few months ago.
They said, get everything ready as early as possible.
Line up your help.
And in the last few weeks rest as much as possible.
To be honest, physically, I'm not capable of much else at this point so rest it is.
I have hours and hours and hours on the DVR and an extra couch in the den if you need to escape

Re: ok---nine days to go! what do I need to do?
Lets see advise! ok definately get lots of rest now. Have all your bottles ready to go. Pack a bag, get some big undies for the hospital and comfortable slippers..I highly suggest the isotoner countor slipper..mine are a year old and i love them. When you 1st bring them home write everything down when you fed them last..because everything will be a big blur and you will be exhausted and it's hard to remember with 2 all the times of the feedings. Sometimes you will think the baby is hungry and feed them more when they have gas or something else and feeding them more will just make them more cranky. Get lots of onsies ready and Pj's with feet thats what they will be in most of the time. Try to remember when the going gets tough which it will...take a breath and walk away for 10 minutes..it does wonders...good luck!

Re: ok---nine days to go! what do I need to do?
ok everyone...I might be behind...
Ii got the bottles---things are being set up now...no car seats in car yet..I rest here and there--I am trying but I am someone whose mind races non-stop--and I seem to obsess on the c-section..although I am trying. I didn't wash clothes yet..and I am just hoping it all works out. I live nowhere near my parents or anyone and I have one week of help thats it. I am thinking...God does not give u more then u can handle and to take it slow and take it in because it will go fast. I am definitely doing each of these things starting..........
now...because I am behind. lets just pray noone comes before 3-22 or I won't make it!

Have your DH drop you off with the clothes. My washer dryer is steps away from the den (in the kitchen) and a complete cycle of one load (wash and dry) takes 1 hour because they are front loaders. We can get it all done in no time.
I have lots of Oprah, several movies... DH is always recording stuff because he goes to bed before 9 pm... well, for NOW he does... the Daily Show... oh, so much.
Most importantly, I just got a coupon book to Friendly's... I'll send DH out for sundaes for us and I'm making Irish Soda Bread today!
I do have another couch all for you but as for a lazy-boy the only one I have is my 33 year old brother
Definitely get the car seats in asap and call your local precinct to see if they can inspect them.
