Car Seat Straps - has this happened to anyone?

so yesterday we are driving in the car and I hear "rrrr-iii-pppppp" like the sound of velcro tearing. I look back and Aidan is playing with the little flap that covers the strap length adjuster thingy. No biggie, he just kept opening and closing....

Today I go to strap him in and notice the straps are so loose which I thought was odd because its been months since I had to adjust them, not since we stopped bundling up in the spring. So I tighten it and off we go....

I hear him playing with it again and when I look I notice he is leaning forward to take a peek at what might be in this little trap door and he's grabbing with his hands.

It occurs to me that he is pressing the little lever that releases the straps and leaning forward making them loose!

Has anyone had this happen? Is there a quick fix? Will he loose interest? Or has my little man just discovered a major design flaw!!!!

Oh boy!!! The car seat we had Patrick wan't able to reach the extender. This would cause me some concern!!!

Wow, what a smart kid. I can see it might be only a matter of time before Andrew figures it out.

When we put Andrew in his car seat, we usually give him a little toy to hold, so maye that will grab his attention away!

Yeah... my son figured out how to do that when he was about 5 months old.. I took my seat back to BRU FREAKING OUT... I exchanged it and bought a new one after speaking to the store manager... I thought they were gonna have to call the cops.. He let himself out and I looked in my rearview, and he was standing looking out the back window!!!!! And the assistant manager had the audacity to tellme that it was IMPOSSIBLE for a baby that young to do that.. Yeah right.. I would call BRU in the AM...(if thats where you got it from)
