All Booked- Napa
Ok, we are all booked for Napa-
anyone want to recommend restaurants or wineries that you particularly enjoyed?
We are staying at the Vino bello Resort.
Thanks!

Re: All Booked- Napa
We ate at a great resturant called Cindys backstreet kitchen, thought the food was great. We also ate at Julia's, i thought the food was good, not great.
For lunch we just did picnic lunches at different sandwich shops, and they were all great.

Re: All Booked- Napa
vineyards - i liked Frog's Leap in St. Helena (a boutique winery), very fun, the people are so sweet.
i thought the Robert Mondavi Winery had the best tours, beautiful barrels and rooms, very knowledgable there.
but i think you can't go wrong at any of the wineries. you can go with your personal taste!

Re: All Booked- Napa
I'll second Mondavi, their tours are smaller than the other vineyards and the tour guide actually let me taste a raw grape. Their wine tasting is actually sitting at a table with the guide and 8 other people and it's much nicer than just standing at a bar.
Check out Copia, the food and win museum in Napa. It was developed by Francis Ford Coppola and it is really nice. They have many exhibits and they run free wine and cooking classes throughout the day. We went to a class on cooking with summer fruits and even got to taste the food they made.

Re: All Booked- Napa
My boss did this trip last year. They went to the Benzinger Winery and bought boatloads of wine. There's also the Plumpjack winery which they loved.
I can come up with more details but of the top of my head that's what I remember.

Re: All Booked- Napa
There are so many nice wineries...Mondavi is soooo cool...gorgeous vineyards, excellent tour...another one that sticks out is Grigich Hills...but, not because it was really nice, the wine was good and we had a great time there.
Have an awesome time!

Re: All Booked- Napa
The BEST winery (well IMO anyway ) is Sawyer in Rutherford (just north of Napa). You need an appointment to taste, but it's well worth the effort! We had tasted a LOT of wines and this was the only place where we actually liked every wine we tasted (we are now part of their wine club). If you go to Sonoma, go to Simi in Healdsburg- they have great wine there too!!
For food, we really enjoyed Cole's Chop House in Napa. The steaks were amazing I had wanted to try one of the really well known gourmet places (CIA or French Laundry), but never made reservations so we missed out.

If you can get a reservation, try French Laundry. I heard it's amazing, but I waited too long to call when we were out there.
For wineries, check out Domain Carneros. It's a beautiful place and they have a fun champagne tasting Here's a pic of it from when I was there a few years ago:Image Attachment(s):

I really liked Beringer and Sterling.
Also, while we were there, we went to Lavendar Day Spa for couples. It was incredible. If you have a chance, go!
