How many bottles a day?
As I am attempting to get Cameron to sleep through the night, I'm wondering if I'm feeding her enough during the day or if I should try to get one more in before she goes to sleep. Right now I feed her 5x during the day about 5 or 6oz each and then she gets a bottle at 3 or 4am. I almost forgot, she is 11 weeks old! TIA!

Re: How many bottles a day?
It sounds like you're feeding her enough. Nate will be 17 weeks on Wednesday and he drinks 6 oz four times during the day (8am, 12pm, 4pm and 8pm) and 2-3 oz at 4 am. I'm trying to wean him off the 4am feeding, but he's not having it.
ETA: he's drinking straight formula, no cereal yet.

What if you tried giving Nate a little bit more at 8:00pm to push him throught the night?

Re: How many bottles a day?
From what I understand... The baby shouldnt have more than 30 oz of formula/ day. So if you are feeding her 5 bottles 6 oz each or 6 bottles 5 oz each then you are feeding her enough... Every baby is different as far as sleeping. Logan is 4 1/2 months and still gets up at night. I dont feed him though. I just rock him back to sleep.

Re: How many bottles a day?
Do you feed her right before or close to bed time? I've noticed that if I feed Christopher about 30 mins before he goes to sleep that he sleeps a lot longer. He's only 2 months and he usually goes about 6 or 7 hours without waking up, unless I feed him over an hour before bedtime.

I was thinking about that last night, maybe trying to give him 8oz. He should be starting cereal in two weeks so hopefully he'll be full at the last feeding.

Re: How many bottles a day?
Sounds like enough to me. I agree with Ali in that my Ped also said no more than 32oz of formula a day. When Jake started sleeping through a feeding I upped the amount in his bottle so now he eats 7 - 7 1/2 oz at 7 am 6 1/2oz at 11 and 3 and then another 7 1/2 oz bottle at 7-8pm immediately before bed. He's having a total of 28oz. When he was still eating 5 - 6 times per day he was only getting 27 oz total. He is going to be 11 weeks old.
