Read any good books lately
We are leaving for Hawaii on the 31st and I would like to take a few books with me. I feel like I do so much reading for work that I don't get to read for fun that much.
Did anyone read any good books lately? Any recommendations?

Right now I am reading, Freedom Writers-they made it into a movie too- I saw the movie, but wanted to read the book too and it is good so far

I am a huge historical fiction reader-- So I can recco a lot of that if you like it..
I would also say David Sedaris- Dress Your Family in Corduroy and Denim is great.

I only read chick lit on the beach....romance novels and such...especially Jennifer Crusie and Julie Garwood
When I was on my honeymoon, I read a lot of books by Donna Kaufman...she takes fairy tales and totally makes them modern ...I love Cinderella Rules, Sleeping with Beauty and Not So Snow White

I love the Shopaholic books for great vacation reads. Also, Can You Keep a Secret by Sophie Kinsella, the same author, is soo funny, I was laughing out loud.

I didn't like Shopaholic, but I LOVED Can you Keep a Secret and Undomesticated Goddess by Sophie Kinsella. For a good beach read- any of Marion Keyes books are great. I also love The Other Boleyn Girl, Queen's Fool by Phillipa Gregory. They are historical fiction novels.

You MUST read The Glass Castle by Jaennette Walls.
The book was incredible, I couldn't put it down.

I just finished Tara Road by Maeve Binchy. She also wrote Scarlet Feather - they were both really good.
I usually like anything by Iris Johanssen too.
