Bed rest ?

I am 14 weeks along and my dr recommended that I stop working at 24 weeks due to the risk of preterm labor. I unfortunately can not afford to not to work so I guess my question is how many weeks were along were you when you were put on bedrest. I am trying to see if maybe I can work a little bit longer.

I sit at a desk all day...no stress....

I was never on official bedrest - and toward the end w/ all of my dr's appts I was up ALL THE TIME. I was told to simply take it easy from 12-6 each day (it was summer and HOT). I rested w/ my feet up. If you're not insanely stressed at work, maybe you could sneak a chair and just put your feet up on it. Also, if you are told by a doctor to stop working, you'd be eligible for disability, I think...

I was put on bed rest at 24 weeks and delivered at 36. I had a shortened cervix because one of the baby's heads was very low down - the pressure of the two babies was causing it to shorten. I was sitting a lot too - I was in school and working full time. Can you maybe work part time, or work from home?

I was never on bed rest until two days before I gave birth. I worked until week 29, I probably should have stopped soon. At work I was on my feet all day, swollen legs --bad. It is still early wait and see how you feel.

I was never put on bedrest.

i was never put on bed rest but stopped working around 26 weeks.

I was told to stop working at 34 weeks since I had low fluid. My Dr was not a big fan of putting me on bedrest unless it was needed, not just becuase I was a twin pregnancy. If everything is fine and you are at a desk, I personally don't see how it would be bad to keep working.

I was told to stop at 32 weeks, but like you I work at a desk - so I knew my limits. I worked up till 35 almost 36 weeks.
My doctor always just told me to take it easy.

I never went on bedrest. Im a teacher, and was told NOT to work summer school and I did
I went back to the first day of work and a week later I was induced.

I was never put on bedrest..but probably should have been. I went into full blown labor at 29 1/2 weeks...thankfully my girls are doing great after spending 3 long months in the NICU. So I would definately listen to the doctor.

Thank you ladies for helping me out....I know I have some time and I will wait to see what happens.....I am hoping that I will not be put out that soon...

I stopped working at 30 weeks. I had them at 39 weeks. The only reason was because my doctors were afraid I would go into preterm labor. That never happened though. I would not change it though. You get extremely big and uncomfortable towards the end.

I stopped working at 33 weeks due to pain down there from the both of them and i had them at 36 weeks. I literally could barely walk at the end so it was necessary to go out at that time.
