This really bothered me...
So I had this training class at my company regarding better customer service. At the beginning of the class we had to write down our favorite animal and 3 reasons why they are our favorite. The trainers stated that the qualities you selected about your favorite animal closely resemble you.
So most people, including me, selected a dog, some people cats..
But the most shocking part to me was at least 3 or 4 people (out of 25 people) stated that they HATE animals. How in the world do you HATE an animal? It really bothered me. People gave reasons for this like they don't want to take care of them, they smell, they're noisy, annoying, etc. To me, that really says alot about a person. 
One woman actually said that her husbands dog, that lives with them, is HIS responsibility and she will not feed him, let him out or anything. If he is away he needs to have his mother come over and take care of him.

I understand people who don't want to take care of a dog/animal (although if it were living iny my home, it would NOT be DH's dog, it would be our dog)These people should NEVER own an animal...
I understand those who are scared of dogs/animals
BUT to HATE an animal? I don't get that...
How can you HATE an animal?
I am not a cat person, I wouldn't own a cat, I don't want a cat, but I sure as heck don't HATE cats...what did they do to me? nothing!

I LOVE animals........but I wouldn't choose my friends based on whether or not they did as well ........
I have a friend that hates dogs, she wants nothing to do w/ them, she doesn't find my 8 lb Yorkie the slightest bit cute, she just does not like dogs.........she would NEVER do anything to HURT an amimal though -

People fear what they cannot understand. I think this is the reason for many people to not like animals.

3 months ago- I would have said I hated cats
now that I have one- I can say I love them
I don't think it makes you are bad person if you don't like animals- I never had a pet before- so what did I know
My Mom would have been one of those people who said she hated animals- b/c she never had a pet either-
