Yep. I taught it for a while and hated it. Most don't give benefits though. Tutor time does I think....

Re: Would you say it's easier to get a job...
I've been teaching it for 4 years. My first year I was in a private UPK. Made $11 and hour no benefits. Got out of there and headed to a Catholic School (where I am now). I make a catholic school salary (which is low compared to public obviously) and I have benefits. Don't think teaching Pre-K is easy. It's very difficult and you need a lot of patience. I'm tired of it and can't wait to teach another grade. They're cute but very needy. They don't pay me enough in a catholic school to basically be a glorified babysitter (which some of the parents and SOME faculty think I am). It's unfortunate b/c Pre-K is a very important time in a child's life. I think I would feel better if I was in a school that had a great curriculum but I had no choice but to follow a woman's plans that were about 20 years old. Hence the reason why I would like to move on. Sorry about the little vent!!

I did not mean the job itself is easier I just meant GETTING the job. Nothing looks promising for Sept.
I have been subbing in public schools and you are so right. When I did K I came home exhausted! That is def by far the hardest age group!

What do you teach and where are you located? I'll keep my eyes open for anything, if you want!

Re: Would you say it's easier to get a job...
I'm sorry that came out the wrong way. I knew you didn't mean that teaching Pre-K was easy. I was in your situation 4 years ago and did not want to sub. because there were no benefits so I know where you are coming from. I took the Pre-K jobs b/c I needed benefits and experience, but now I want out so bad. Finding a job is VERY difficult. The best of luck to you! (job Dust lol)

That would be great. I live in Port Jeff and I am certified grades 1-6.
