So Elle magazine says that you shouldn't wear a trend that has been revived when you wore the original 20 years ago.

So with the rebirth of leggings and skinny jeans, I can't help but remember them from my HS and junior high school days. Chat Icon

So do you agree with what Elle said ?

It's funny you mentioned this.
I was in the store today looking at leggings and the long belted shirts and I couldn't believe this style was back.
I was debating to buy then or not. And this exact thought ran through my head. IF I wore it when it was originally out should I attempt to wear it again.
So I left the store with out themChat Icon

I won't wear things that I think look young and too trendy. Most of the clothing that my middle school students wear to school resembles what I wore in 8th grade and I don't want to dress like them. I tend to go for a more classic look.

Seeing as how I was 10, its hard to remember, although I do know I wore some velour sweat suits...and I also own a few today!

Yes - I say this all the time. If I wore the trend the first time around...I'm too old to wear it the second time around.

I personally wouldn't wear leggings and skirts on top like I used to in the 80's, but I can pull off skinny jeans. screw Elle! Chat Icon Chat Icon

I think it may depend on how old you were when you wore it. If you were 13 and attempting something that the older girls were wearing but you really couldn't pull it off because you weren't developed yet, then I would say you could try it again.

If it is something you wore when you were 18 or 19, I think you need to skip it this time around.
