So sad...18 weeks and I gained 8 pounds!!!
I went to the doctor today and got on that freakin scale and now at week 18 I have gained 8 pounds in total. The doctor basically said to slow it down. I wanted to cry there on the table. Was anyone else told this??? Should I be concerned?????

Yup, I thought about it. I pour the salt on the tomotoes when I eat them. I am going to cut that out asap!

Wow, I don't think 8 pounds at 18 weeks is bad at all.  My first pregnancy I gained a pound a week my entire pregnancy (more at the end.)
Everyone gains weight differently.

I am 18 weeks too and I've gained 12 lbs. The only thing my doctor said to me is "I see your appetite isn't suffering". (I love him so I wasn't insulted at all). You may have a month or so when you don't gain at all. I gained alot w/my first child and he never said anything to me. I wouldn't worry about it. It's all good the weight gain.

I was going to say the same thing! I gained 6 at my 12 week appointment, I go for my 16 week appt tomorrow and I have a feeling I am topping 8lbs, easy!

Don't get yourself in a tizzy fixated on weight. 8 lbs is right on target, actually it's good for how far along you are. I gained 10 lbs and I'm 16 weeks--Dr. is thrilled said I'm right on track. I know someone that gained 45 lbs already and she is 21 weeks. Relax you are doing great!! BTW the important thing is that you and your baby are healthy, weight always can come off. Gina

I don't think thats bad at all!!
Last week I went for my 19th week and gained 6 pounds - my doctor said that was great.
ETA - My ideal weight woudl be to gain 20 lbs - because im a bit overweight - but he didn't insist on it at this time and said i was doing great so far.

i went yesterday at 15 weeks i gained 7 ...i know its easier said then doen but dont worry toom uch it may taper off...i dont think its really alot my dr. told me to stay away from white carbs she said that helps alot!!!

hey.
I am 18 weeks as well. I go to the MD tomorrow, but according to my own scale I have gained 11 pounds sofar...now I am afraid of what my doctor will say! I didn't think that was so terrible, especially since we are both tall ......

Thanks guys!! You have made me feel sooo much better. I was truly upset last night, because I thought it was ok, but my doctor made me feel as if all I am doing is eating chips and dip all day!!
