When are you going ??

I too am going - Not to throw a wrench into things but what rate did you get because I looked into Bellagio and they were the SAME price... I just changed my hotel reservations to Bellagio...

I would take a day trip to see Grand Canyon. Another day to see Hoover dam and valley of fire. Sont forget Downtown Vegas (fremont experience)...

we are leaving on June 28th and returning on July 3rd. so thurs to tues.

We looked at bellagio and venetian but both were A LOT more money- we booked through expedia-because the flights were SO expensive! The package deal worked out better for us

We are doing one full day at the Grand Canyon...95% sure it will be the Monday.

We are deciding how to plan out our actual anniversary, which is July 1st.
I am thinking a spa treatment somewhere, dinner at Mix and a show...

We want to do the brunch at paris, but I don't think that will be a good day to do it because the brunch will be so big we might not be hungry for a big dinner

We just got back from VEgas thurs night. Paris is an awesome hotel.
We saw a few shows and mostly did sightseeing. Prince is at the 3121 at the RIO which is great.

Dont forget downtown, we did and I am bummed. We had never been there either. Make sure you make an itenary before you go of what you want to see and do.

We saw prince at Rio the fab four mania at the Alladin

WHat do you want to do? I can make some sugestions.

Re: YIPPEEE! VEGAS-but still need help

I wrote on your other post, so check that out.

We saw Splash, which is an "adult show". It actually started out with topless dancers. Not stripper type, but dancers you would see on a cruise ship, but with no tops. Strange!!!
The rest of the show was really good. It was a variety show, with a comedian, jugglers, dancers etc..

Make sure you go into the Bellagio. I loved this hotel, and we are definitely staying there are next visit.

They have a Madame Tussueds wax Museum in the Venetian. If you haven't see the one in Europe or New York, check it out.

We had the best gelato ever in Caesars Palace. It was on the side of Wolf Gang Pucks restaurant, near all the "shops". Another thing you should check out in Caesers Palace.

I have been to the Grand Canyon and hated it. I thought it was very boring JMO. It was something to look at for about 2 minutes and then I was done.

I went to Vegas last year.

My two best meals were at Commander's Palace in the Alladin for brunch and Delmonicos at the Venetian.

CP is a replica of the origanl Commander's in New Orleans. Outstanding food & service.

Delmonico's is one of Emeril's restaurants.

Re: YIPPEEE! VEGAS-but still need help

question:

there is a champagne brunch at paris, as well as their breakfast buffet... which is the "popular" one that one MUST have?

ALSO.... At MGM - anyone know anything about the baby tigers? What is the fee to play with them? I can't find it on their website...

thanks!

What's "old vegas", or downtown?

They are really the same thing...you can take a cab to Freemont Street...that is where the events happen. I suggest going at night...they do a light show and all the hotels turn off the outside lights...it is quite interesting...each night has a different theme. They have outside shops too. A lot of the hotels have cheaper tables to play at too. We stayed downtown the last time we went...and while I wouldn't want to stay downtown again(due to the fact that it is far away from the strip-and we wanted to spend our time there), it is really fun. My DH loved that tables were $5 all the time!! It is fun to play down there. During the day, it is boring and I suggest to stay up on the strip but at night, it is really fun! Enjoy!

The light show begins at 8 I believe...and FYI I saw someone mentioned Alladin in this thread, its now Planet Hollywood but so far everything inside is the same.

The baby tigers at MGM,...I dont know about playing with them Chat Icon

Keep in mind with Vegas there is A LOT of walking to do back and forth to the hotels you want to see. You can take cabs of course but it adds up after a while.

We just got back and stayed at the Ballys and Cesars. Caesars is our favorite hotel - this is my 4th stay there.

We ate at Pearl in the MGM for our anniversary - delicious! We also had the buffet dinner at Wynn which was excellent. We had the seafood buffet at Rio which was good but we have done it before.

I should go on this board more often I can totally help with anything Vegas related! (Except shows, we dont do shows)Chat Icon

Ballys has the most expensive champange brunch in Vegas, it's called the Sterling Brunch.

We had champagne brunch at Mirage and it was fine, and much cheaper.

Don't forget to go downtown to see the Fremont Street Experience.

Also, if you have a car, Red Rock Canyon is right outside of Vegas and beautiful!

We were debating Ceasar's or Paris- I feel like I am second guessing my choice, but all is done now and I'm sure it will be great! We don't plan to be in the room too much anyway...

Have you been to the Paris Buffet?
I heard it is one of the most delicious, but my mom tried to get in 3 times on her trip and the lines were way too long... SO, we should have a backup plan in case we don't get in.

We are not going to have a car- Dh wanted to rent one, but I didn't see a real need...plus then we would have to pay for parking and I don't think we are going to use it enough. Maybe they have day trips to red rock canyon?
