Regarding SanFran/Napa - is this idea crazy???
DH read that wine country gets crazy busy during the weekends. We will fly out there on a Saturday. His recommendation was to stay in SanFran on like a Sat--->Tuesday - check out - go to a B&B or hotel in wine country for 1 or 2 nights - come back to SanFran (b/c you have to go that way for the airports) and stay another couple of nights at another hotel there and then leave.
does this make sense? My dad said wine country is boring but we love wine?
thanks

Not a crazy idea at all...and actually sounds a lot like what DH and I did...only we just took a day trip to Napa...we didn't stay over...but, we sure wish we did.
And, tell your dad he's wrong about Napa...it's far from boring!!!!!!!!
If you love wine...you'll have a GREAT time!

We went on our HM. I think we were in Sonoma on the weekend and there were more people around, but the wineries were by no means packed. I think going on a weekend to the north fork was much busier!! There are SO many wineries out there that the crowds are very spread out. And wine country is far from boring (especially if you like wine!). We had an amazing time

Sounds great. Dh and I did a similar years a few years back. We did SF for a few days (he had abusiness trip there). Drove to Napa for like 2 days and then back for SF to go home (I don't think weh ad a overnight stay though on the way home in SF). Napa isn't boring - relaxing!!! We hit lots of vineyards and went tasting - one day did a tour with a bus so no drinking and driving. At night we did nice dinners.
