NYC interviews
So I got an invitation to interview with the DOE in Brooklyn. Is it worth doing this or should I try to interview with schools on my own? I know if you sign a letter of intent they can stick you anywhere. I don't need to be in the best area, but i also don't want to be in the worst.

Re: NYC interviews
I went in the city in january and have a committment letter. Since math is a high needs area, I am not limited to where I can and cannot apply to.
I like the fact that if I don't find a job on my own, they will place me somewhere, even if it s u c k s since at least I am guaranteed a teaching job.
You go to career fairs and interview. I was told by my case manager you DO NOT have to take a job because it is offered to you, if you don;t feel it is a right match.
