How does everyone handle Mothers Day when there Mother is gone

It has been 3 yrs without my Mom and everyone says it gets easier, some days are harder than others.

I know Mother's Day will be very hard on me, I miss her so very much, and there are days I want her advice so much.

Will it ever get easy. I have a great Dad, Fiance, and 2 brothers, but it is still not the same without a mother.

my mother has been gone for 4 1/2 years. Life changes and you move forward but I don't think that you'll ever get over it or it will ever get easier; you can't put a timeline on grief - everyone's different. Try to focus on the times you had and make new traditions. to you.

I dont know...this will be the first Mother's Day without her

My Mother has been gone now for 8 years. And I have to say it does get better. But Mothers Day is always a bit of a sad day! I generally take a drive out to the cemetery and leave her some flowers.

I also lost my Father about a year and 1/2 ago.

Planning the wedding without both of my parents was a bit sad.

My advice. keep yourself busy that day and make sure you tell your Dad that you love him.

I cannot believe that my mother has been gone since november 8th 2004. Time has gone so fast.

My sister doesnt celebrate mothers day. She will have a quiet day with her husband and kids.

I have been celebrating with my inlaws usually at their house, but this year we are having everyone at our house for a BBQ.

It is hard but I feel good having my wifes family. We are very close.

Mother's Day has always been one of the worst days of the year for me. Now that I have a MIL, things are just weird! My DH and I took her out for brunch last weekend to avoid the Mother's Day "hoopla" and we will probably be expected to go to her house for a little bbq on Sunday. I feel bad, because I don't really want to go, but I know that my DH has a mom and he wants to celebrate with her. The whole thing is awkward and sad.

A good friend who lost her mom when she was about 19 said the only thing that has made Mother's Day easier is having children of her own. I'm forever waiting for that day...

It does get better. Life moves forward, but you never forget. Your life changes, time heals a lot. I usually go to the cemetary and leave her flowers.

9 years this Aug . My Mother's day is going to the cememtery & planting flowers. I've done it every year since she's passed

i know how you all feel, dh's mom has been gone for four years and it hurts just as much still.....

i think mother's day will always and forever stink no matter what. its something we will all have to deal with and unfortunately the media and the radio and the stores and the florists etc have no idea how they make me feel when it is this time of year. what about us who don't have a mother to celebrate!!!!
