We did not like this place at all.... the setting is pretty, but that was it... It was probably the worst meal we had in Aruba.

For a wonderful italian meal try Sole Mar... and get the pasta for two special made with the wheel of cheese!!! OMG....

Flying Fishbone of course is a must..

We also went to the Dome?? something like that.. it was ok. We were here for our anniversary dinner (the FF was closed on Sunday which was our actual anniversary). They decorated the table, etc. and gave us a complimentary glass of Champagne. DH liked his food-- and we chose it because they had a vegetarian option-- which consisted of stuff I would have been able to receive at a diner in the states... otherwise, it was nice.

We also ate at Sunset Grill- which was in our hotel.... this was better than the Dome- but not worth the hype I think it gets down there.

ETA-- we are tough customers...

We ate at a place called Papiamento's which was excellent and very romantic also...it was outdoors in a garden by a pool with candles everywhere...the food was delicious too!

You will love Flying Fishbone - it was the most romantic dinner I have ever had in my life!

Re: Going to Aruba next week - few ??

I'd say only go to the lighthouse for a drink...not for food. Definitely not worth it...but the view is great!

The most popular restaurants on the island are Flying Fishbone (because its on the beach) Madame Janette's (best food on the island) and Chef's Table.

My DH and I like casual dinners so my votes are for Texas De Brazil (if youre a meat eater) and Iguana Joes (its in town and I like to sit on the balcony and people watch)

Re: Going to Aruba next week - few ??

Other than what was mentioned, we ate at Cuba's Cooking (downtown Oranjestad) one night. It's not really fancy, but a nice place and the food was really good.

Madame Jeanette's
Sunday Brunch at Ruinas Del Mar (Hyatt)
Texas de Brazil if you like Brazilian BBQ
Salt & Pepper - cute breakfast spot
The Palms - (Hyatt) I had lunch here everyday, never tried it for dinner-- right by the beach

Re: Going to Aruba next week - few ?? UPDATED (just came back)

Just came back last night and wanted to say we had a blast....the food in Aruba is really good!!!!

Ladies, thank you again for recommending the restaurants!!

Flying Fishbone was by far the best meal we had (the food & ambiance combined)!!!

El Gaucho was great also (the Gaucho steak was yummy), didn't like the place by the Lighthouse (way too expensive and the food suk....ed). liked Madame Jeanette's, LG Smith's steakhouse (great modern place), Aqua Grill, Pago Pago and few others....

Thanks again!
