Probably one of the best restaurants I was ever at is Belga, behind Capitol Hill in DC. Belgian food and drink with the most amazing service.
I also liked Martin's Tavern in Georgetown - real old Americana.

I went to a nice Italian place over the weekend, Etrusco, by Dupont Circle.
