F-Status teacher losing their job!
I am so sad....I took over a leave replacement last year and the school asked me back in Septmeber for an F-status postion.
I really wanted full time, but that was all they had. Plus I received no calls last summer for an interview after sending out a million resumes.
I have vested two years in this school and I know they are going to get rid of me.
Though they have not said one word to me yet, the rumor mill is flying. This is the worst part!
They are supposedly excessing teachers and no longer giving out F-status postions.
I can't believe I have to start looking for a job all over gain. When will this end??
It's only getting harder to land a job.
What do I do now??
Sorry......I just needed ot vent.

It is hard to make the jump, but realize that there are better things out there....trust me...things happen when you least expect it...I got my prob position in October...good luck!
Also, what does f-status mean? Is it like a perm sub?

My aunt took an F-status position after she retired from teaching 3 years ago. She absolutely LOVED it, and they got rid of her last year. I'm so sorry...I think they are a great benefit to the city schools, I think it's ridiculous that they're getting rid of it.

Thanks Ladies. F-status means part-time with benefits. You are paid daily. The down side is that when there are vacations, you don't get paid.
It is a really good position for new mothers.
I really want full-time. I don't know what I am going to do now.

If you want you can use those 2 days to sub in other districts.

I usually sub in this school. I have submitted my resume to other schools for that reason, but when they callI am usuallly at my school.
So they stopped calling!
I work in region 3.
