I think stuffed dinos are a great idea! Are you worried about them cutting them out? if you are then don't worry about it..it's their work it's not going to look perfect..when they're done cutting you can staple it for them.
Hope i understood what you meant. It's a cute idea!! Chat Icon

Thanks....I am afraid they will cut them out uneven and the stuffing will fall out.

Even so, I am afraid they will cut themselves on the staples.

These kids always find a way!

Re: Kindergarten Dinosaur unit.

the other day i did an art project where i stapled a stem to a flower. i realized that it was a bit dangerous so i put tape over the back of the staple. Maybe you can do that?

What about you get photos of different dinosaur and they have to cut and glue the spikes on their back (sorry I do not teach K, and don't know the technical name for the spikesChat Icon )

Of as a class you make a Paper mache one?

Use legal and letter sized paper or..even better make a template have them trace the pattern on the longer sized construction papaer. Then, use string, shoelaces, from the dollar store, you start the sewing of the dinosaurs. You just punch holes through both dinosaurs. It is very tactile and gets rid of the staples!

Habitat Dinorsaurs? Have colored copies and they choose which one and create the habitat that dinosaur lived in. Land or air in a shoe box. Good Luck! Sounds fun! Another teacher did the clay ones, it came out cute too!
