why I love teaching
I teach in the G&T program in my district. Today my 4th graders begged me to have a summer camp at my house LOL because "summer is boring because we went on vacation for Easter... let's just do projects with you like camp! please ask the principal"
They're so cute. Made me smile.
What's your "why I love teaching" moment for the day?

Me: "What don't you get?"
Student: "I can't figure you out"
Me: Am I that hard to figure out?
Student: Why do you still treat me so nicely? After all that I do?
Me: Because I told you - its unconditional for me. I will forgive you everyday because deep down I know you would never do anything to hurt me on purpose.
That was THE EXACT conversation my student had with me today - he is emotionally disturbed and extremely challenging (beyond words) BUT I love him to death. I know I was meant to know him - change him - treat him with a little bit of dignity and offer him HOPE for the future.

I 'm getting married this weekend and my kids are to die for adorable. I teach first and second grade. My parents threw me a surprise bridal shower and my kids each gave me a rose with a wish on it. And then they wrote me cards and poems. Then, yesterday they asked why they couldn't come to the wedding. I said because if I take one then I have to take all of you. So they go, "that's ok we'll take a limo" I just live for these kids.. they just don't get any cuter.
