Is this ok..

SOrry for all the breast feeding questions lately...Im just learning as I go along...

Ryan def. has a breast that he favors... Ive been alternating but lately when I start him on his FAVORITE breast he feeds for 15 min. straight and then falls asleep..

Ive been pumping the other breast right away to balance myself out...Is this ok?

and is 15 min. on one side only enough??

if he wanted more food...than he would keep on eating...babies can **** and sleep at the same time.

try feeding him with the other breast first next time....because even though you are pumping to even it out, you boby knows the difference between the baby and the pump. You will produce better...if the baby feeds from both breasts.

I talked to a lactation consultant about this... I didn't have a pump yet so my other boob would get so engorged and painful. She suggested I start feeding Alex on her favorite side, then interrupt her after 5 minutes and put her on the other side. Apparently once the letdown occurs on one side, it happens on the other side simultaneously, making it easier for them to feed.... I tried it out and it worked like magic. Now Alex feeds on both sides indiscriminately...
