what is there to do in montauk and surrounding area?
Dh and i are going for a sunday to monday stay in montauk at the end of july. We plan to get there by early afternoon sunday and wont leave until late monday afternoon what are sometings we can do in and around montauk? TIA

You can walk around the Hamptons, go the lighthouse, the beach, etc.
Where are you staying for one night?

its not booked yet but we are looking at a place called wave crest hotel or motel or resort sometign like that

We like to go to the Wolffer Vineyards (you can also visit Duck Walk and Channing Daughters). You can also go to the lighthouse, visit the beach, walk around the tiny town, etc. I love it out there!

You better check because most places do not do a one day stay especially in the summer.

Montauk - the lighthouse...fishing off of the beach...horseback riding at the stables or on the beach....rent bikes from the bike shop in town and explore...mini golf place in town..they also have kayaks and small boats to rent....nature walk in hither hills state park.....check w/village hall....the local schools are usually putting on a play or something...and they are free....HTH

looking at the Wavecrest website, it looks like you can do 1 night. Maybe that is just until high season starts?
eta:I called and it's minimum 3 night stay for weekends.

we go to montauk a couple times a summer and its my favorite place, if u stay at gurneys or not, u can get spa treatments. we usually dont do much but relax at beach or pool and eat seafood! they have some nice shops as well! horse back riding and even boat day trips
