CM question...
I have to ask cause well...I just don't know and need to!
When you monitor your cm...how do you do it???
I usually will go to the bathroom and use some tissue and look...
Is there an actually method?

Ummm I don't use toilet paper.....I am not even sure how people get accurate readings that way. I use my finger,.....you can get some from the outside or what's really more 'telling' is right near the cervix. If you sit down like you are going to the bathroom on the toilet, you will be able, to get a good idea of what kind of cm you are having and what position your cervix is in. EWCM....is usually white or clear, with a bit of stretch. You will also notice it a lot more.
A full finger, (second knuckle) is a high cervix, a half a finger, (first knuckle) is a lower cervix. When the cervix is soft like your lips, it, can be open and you might be during your fertile time. When it's firm like your nose, and low, it's unfertile time.

Now that I started doing the charting again...it ask's me what kind of a CM day I am having...and I always had a problem knowing!
If not the toilet paper...
I would even judge by discharge on my underwear!  Sorry tmi...but this is why I asked...
The things women will go though!

I honestly don't find it to be "icky"...it's important we know these things...PLUS why not know your body inside and out right? (no pun intended!)

This is tricky bc left over sperm can be confused to be CM. They both look the same clear and stringy. I have had this happen before and it wasnt CM and i screwed up the month. If your DH pulls out then u have a better chance of determinng your CM. GOOD LUCK

HEY!!! Sorry about that I meant pull out on the low fertile days so u can see how your body changes during high fertile days i know for myself that 2-3 days after BD that i find that sperm (which looks like CM) comes out. There are websites that say woman confuse this with CM. LOOK BELOW
One caution for this test is that sperm can be confused with the mucus secretions and you could make wrong assumptions. Also, vaginal infections, medication, and birth control can alter conditions and should be taken into consideration when examining any vaginal secretions(This was copied from fbabyhopes.com.)

Michelle described it best, this is exactly how i did it too. I had a hard time with the firmness/softness of the cervix though, always felt the same to me!
A good way to tell the difference between sperm and CM is that sperm fluid dries up immediately on your fingers-it evaporates quicker than CM.
