Back from Aruba-review

We got back from Aruba this past weekend and I finally have a chance to post about it... We had a great time except from out trip from hell to get there...

We flew Delta and are in the process of writing a letter to get some money back.. Basically we had an 8 am flight and did not leave until 6:30 pm... between not having enough flight attendants to board then the flap not working, sitting on the plane for 2 hours, then deboarding to wait for a part to be flown in from Atlanta, going to 5 different gates, and finally after all this getting us a new plane ( thank goodness, I was a little scared going on the first plane) and only giving us a $7 voucher for food that you still had to add $$ to to get a slice of pizza and soda, we had such a day.. WE finally were in our beautiful room at 11:30 pm.. So our first day was wasted...

We stayed at the Marriot Surf Club which was wonderful. My inlaws have a timeshare there, so they gave it to us to use for the week... The pool is amazing and it is was quite empty all through out Aruba. We also got massages at there spa which was fantastic. We did not need reservations anywhere although we had them anyway...

We loved the following restaurants:
Madame Jeanette's ( our favorite)
Flying Fishbone
Texas de Brazil
El Gaucho
La Dolce Vita
We also ate at:
Champions( at the resort)

We took a bus tour of the island and we went shopping in town, went to Baby Beach too..

All in all if you want to have a relaxing vacation--Aruba is the place to do it...

That really stinks about the Flight out...but It sounds like you had a wonderful time after you got to Aruba!

Baby Beach has great snorkeling! Doesn't it?

Sorry about the flight...we came back from Aruba 10 days ago...we flew on JetBlue...

We checked out the same restaurants as you...Loved Flying Fishbone...

we didn't like Baby Beach but loved Eagle Beach...by far the best beach on the island....overall we liked it....thank God for casinos since there isn't much to do on the island...
