Can an elevated estrogen level effect AF?

Here's my story: AF visited 9/1. On 9/3 I started 2 weeks of BCPs as part of the beginning of an IVF cycle. 2 weeks later, I went for bloods and sono, only to find out my estrogen level was 123 - too high for IVF. My cycle was cancelled. Since then I have been waiting for AF. The week of 9/26 I had soon dark brown staining on toilet paper, but no flow, (sorry TMI). It stopped after a couple of days. Now, since Sunday I am having dark brown spotting again - still no flow. I did a HPT on 10/4 which was negative, (didn't expect a positive because of the BCPs). I have no idea what is going on? Anyone have a clue or any advice? Thanks!

Re: Can an elevated estrogen level effect AF?

Unfortunately elevated estrogen can definitely affect AF. It's called "estrogen dominance". Dr. John Lee, has done a lot of research on this. I have information as well, if you want me to pass it on to you.
