Gift ideas for widow ?

My Godmother's husband jus passed. (Parkinsons).

We decided not to bother with flowers, since they did get an over abaundance.
and many family members are donating money to the Michael J. Fox Parkinsons foundation.

I was thinking of doing something more personal for my Godmother. Is there something special that any woman in your family has received after the passing of her husband?
something comforting/keepsake-ish?
(small statue of a saint?)

I was thinking a chalice for the church, but my mom thinks that should have been done before the mass so it would have been used for the funeral mass.

but Im also thinking something for them to have at home...

any suggestions?

When my mom passsed away, a friend of mine had a plaque made at my church with my mom's name on it (the plaque was put onto a marble wall with the names of the deceased people from the parish whose family members brought a plaque). Sorry if that does not make sense but I think you understand what I mean. She also sent me this candle for me to have in my home.
