Vegas in July/August??

I want to go to Vegas with my DH for a long weekend. Are we crazy to even think about going in July/August?

Can we get some good deals during that time?

Which hotels does everyone suggest?

Thanks! Chat Icon

Re: Vegas in July/August??

we are going June 27- July 3rd-
we know it will be HOT! but we will be going in and out of hotels and going to shows and dinners... so it wont be so bad... also it is a dry heat, rather than humid, that makes a difference.

Honestly, I dont think we got such a great deal...but we are also going a holiday weekend

we are staying at the Paris hotel-friends of ours have stayed there and love it

My parents stay at the Venetian when they go- they love it-we would have liked to stay there too, but it was much more money

Ceasars was our second choice

Bellagio if you want to spend $$$

I was there last Sept and it was HOT AS HELL! Everything is super air conditioned and we took cabs just about every where we went so it wasn't unbearable. It's not humid so being in the shade helps a lot so do frozen beverages. Chat Icon

Re: Vegas in July/August??

We went in July about 4yrs ago.......I still remember how HOT HOT HOT it was. I was sweating like crazy and I swear it felt like my shoes were melting!! We took cabs everywhere!! Everything is very air conditioned, but it's still horrid during the day. Night time is a little better but still very warm. You can atleast wealk around a little though so it's not as bad!!! Have fun and just remember pack very light comfy things and even though everything looks like it's 1blk away it's more like 1 mile!!!!

we went like 2 years ago in the beginning of august, it was hot, but we didn't care, we still went to the pool and walked around and would duck into the hotels when we needed to cool off, we had a great time,
we stayed at the Luxor but wasn't impressed, i would def stay somewhere else next time we go

Re: Vegas in July/August??

we were there in the beginning of June a couple of years ago and although it was boiling hot it was nice by the pool and walking around was fine so long as you had water

eta you can probably get great deals during that time
Good luck!!

Re: Vegas in July/August??

We're going in August. It will be hot, but we plan on sitting by the pool and chilling. Plus you are indoors alot.

The one thing I am worried about is that we are taking a trip to the Grand Canyon. That will probably be hot.

The last time we went it was in Oct and they were having a unusually hot Oct. It's dry heat though.

We are actually leaving Friday for Vegas, can't wait! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

We were there in September a couple of years back and the heat was certainly do-able. You are in a/c most of the time anyway.

ETA: we stayed at bellagio last time and this time we will be in planet hollywood (used to be alladin).

NY NY is nice so is Mirage, MGM, Venetian...they are all great.

Re: Vegas in July/August??

I spent most of July in Vegas last summer while I was 6 months preggo on business...it was hot, but not unbearable. I walked to the office in morning and took a cab home. I didn't venture out much at night outside the hotels, so everything was comfortable with the air conditioning!
