200 Dead Cats Found In Animal Rescuer's N.J. Yard

EAST ORANGE, N.J. -- Public works employees in East Orange on Friday plan to remove hundreds of cat carcasses from the back yard of a woman who operates one of New York City's no-kill animal shelters.
Animal welfare officers said they were sickened by the stench when they arrived at Marlene Kess' home Thursday.
They found 48 living cats in the house and more than 200 dead cats stuffed in garbage bags.
Kess, who moved from Manhattan in July, was cited for several health code violations. She's also charged with failing to properly shelter cats.
Some of the cats in the home are healthy and officials have told the 56-year-old to separate them from the sick.
Kess founded Kitty-Kind in Greenwich Village, which takes in sick and dying cats.

OMG! I don't get it. I'm assuming they died of natural causes. How hard is it to dispose of them properly?
