Can i ask a few south beach questions??

It's for my DH..he started on Sunday. He wants to see if the fat comes off his belly, lol

First question....how long did it take you to start losing weight? He is still the same, it's been 5 days...

Second-did you maintain your loss or did it all or part come back on when phase 1 was done?

And last....he is a pretty trim guy, not big at all but he just has a belly he can't get rid of. By doing south beach, have you noticed the fat coming off of areas it hasn't before?

Thanks for any help you can give! I give credit to everyone doing it, I could not do this diet to save my life.

Hi.. I started losing weight after the 3rd day and almost every day after that I would loose another pound, I love it, but everyone is different, I always weigh myself at the same time each day too, so you can really tell when you are loosing.

I stayed on phase 1, this is my 3rd week ( I just have to loose some more) , but last time I was on it I only put back on a pound or so, as long as you reintrodude carbs very slowly... The very first time I did south beach, I got married and went on my honeymoon right away and did not introduce slowly and gained it all back, so its all about the timing.

South beach is supposed to work on the belly fat first, the area my fat comes off is my hip area, I always notice my hips getting much smaller, but after I loose a few lbs, it comes off everywhere.

If you need any recipes or any other advice feel free to ask me, I just love this diet

Glad the diet works for you :) I wanted to try it, but after reading through the food lists found it would be too hard for me to stick too.

He is doing ok...getting frustrated i think. He really wants his belly gone, and no amount of ab work has helped much. I'll tell him what you said about slow reintroduction of carbs...Hopefully he gets the results he wants!!

I love the cookbooks. Most of the melas are great. You can go to craftfoods/southbeach for some receips and also you can get southbeach e-mails with tips/receips. I love this diet and it really works!!

I started losing in about 3-5 days. I stayed on phase 1 for about 4 weeks (I was paranoid about going to phase 2). I did not gain the weight back in phase 2 or phase 3.

Have the cookbook really helped. It kept from getting bored and eating the same thing over and over again.

I also joind SBD on line.
