I just saw this and my American ones expire too by Dec. I think it is BS!!!
I AM SO MAD.
I don't have enough vacation time this year to use it and then I lose 40000 milies!

I agree. I think this is such BS. the guy who wrote that little piece works in my company and he found out the hard way. He had just lost his SO and wanted to go to Philly to visit family knowing he had all those miles would get him a free ticket home. Well when he went to look at his account, big fat 0. He was fuming. he didnt receive any notice they were to expire or a warning. One day they were there and the next they werent. He wrote a nasty letter to US airways.
The airlines are really cutting down on their service.
