I am crazy
I have not slept well since we got back from our trip because I am SO nervous about my new teaching job next year (moving from private school to public school). I am meeting with my team next week to start some planning but... How can I calm down and enjoy the summer?

I understand... I'm going from a charter school to a public school in queens it's much more hard core.. I'm pretty nervous myself. Not to mention the fact that I still don't know my salary for sure, among other things.. I cant get any specific info.!

Where are you teaching? What grade level?
Overall, I know it is a change but I wouldn't worry to much. Have fun with it.

Re: I am crazy
Thanks for the responses I am very excited about my new job; just going through a period of anzxiety about it. I'm sure I feel better once I meet with my new team next week and start planning.

Re: I am crazy
I understand completely. The month before I started my job (LI public school), I was so nervous. I couldn't sleep or eat (I seriously lost 10 pounds). It was terrible! The only thing that worked for me was actually starting and seeing that I could do it. I think meeting with your team will help, you'll know more about who you'll be working with and what next year will be like. If that doesn't work, try to keep busy with other things to get your mind off of it. It'll be fine!
