What to make to bring to a friend?

My good friend is having a baby next Friday. I would like to make a meal to take over for the family when she comes home so she does not have to worry about cooking. Her husband does not eat any vegetables and I know other people are planning on bring lasagna, ziti and other italian dishes.

I am stumped. The lasagna and italian dishes are the only things I can think of that mostly everyone likes and are easy to make and transport. I would love some ideas. Nothing to hard or labor intensive please.

Mac & cheese, pasta salad for lunches, chicken cutlets, cake, cookies, etc....

It has to be a full dinner.

I live in Georgia and I am part of a moms club down here.

The deal is you make a full dinner meal and bring it to them at 6pm. This way they have dinner (good food, not fast food) and they did not have to even think about it.

I just can not come up with a complete dinner except for lasagna, salad and garlic bread or some form of that.

I am probably putting way too much thought and effort into this but I want my meal to be good!

How about grilling hamburgers and making macaroni salad? They can reheat the burgers if they're cold by the time you bring them.

Does the DH eat fish? You could do a fried fish dish with rice. Or a tuna casserole?

How about a meat loaf?

How about meatloaf & mashed potatoes. I like the recipe that's on the back of the Lipton Onion soup mix box. Meatloaf is good for lefovers too.

A whole roast chicken - good for leftovers with rolls potatoes and salad

What's her favorite meal? What about chicken and rice or a nice soup with a salad and bread? Clam chowder, potato soup, or chicken noodle are great comfort foods, keep well, and reheat quick. 1 pot of clam chowder with crusty bread and a salad would last atleast 2 meals

what about tacos? or grilled chicken in strips for fajitas, soft tortillas, and all the trimmings?

grilled chicken breasts with a full garden salad and maybe a package of wraps (I've seen the flavored wraps in stores down here--wheat, basil & tomato, spinach, etc)...that way they can make wraps the next day and they are easy to make/eat even holding a baby!!!

what about breakfast for dinner? pancakes, scrambled eggs, fresh fruit?

anything in a crockpot...just bring the crockpot over with the meal in it, and get it back from her in a week or so.
