Eye infections?
we came home from being away for a few days- and my perisan eye seems messed up (we had a friend check on them - but she said she couldn't find him)
there is a brownish discharge coming from his right eye and it seems not open all the way
I feel awful- he was very freaked out when we got home- not his normal self- we think the kitten maybe kicked him in the eye when they were play fighting- he seems to want nothing to do with her now
I am calling the vet in the morning- anyone have any ideas?

Re: Eye infections?
Is his third eyelid red & swollen or puffing out of his eye? Could be the other kitty swatted him. If he will let you try to just gently clean the goop off with a wet cotton pad with a little warm water and take him to vet in the morning. Poor thing, hope he feels better

Re: Eye infections?
The kitten may have gotten him or he may just have an eye infection from stress. My mom's persian would get that alot.

Re: Eye infections?
My cat had something similar about a year ago. His eye wouldnt open and he had all sorts of goop coming out of it. We took him to the vet, who put a dye in his eye (harmless!) to make sure nothing was scratched and then she just gave us some eye drops.
Hope he feels better!

Re: Eye infections?
I am taking him to the vet tonight
Jake woke me up last night to tell me he thought it was getting worse
he seemed the same to me this morning- but I am not taking any chances and I don't want him to be in any pain- since he is having surgrey next week on a cyst- my poor little guy!

My other cat used to get this a lot when she was under a lot of stress. I would just clean it and keep an eye on it
