Re: How Long...

prenatals don't help you conceive, it helps build your bodies supply of vitamins and minerals that you need. When you are PG, the baby takes all your nutrients and you are the one to suffer if you don't have enough. Hence, that's why in the old days, women lost their teeth after having kids.....all the vitamins went to the growing baby.

Prenatals are basically a vitamin for you and for the baby when you get pg,.
My dr. told me last week it can take most couples up to a year to conceive.

The average is that you have anywhere from an 11-20% chance of conceiving every month.

Of course, the older a woman is the less of the chances, on average.

Re: How Long...

each person is different, it could take one try or longer. Depends on age as well. If your under 35 I would say based on what the drs say 8-10 months is the longest it should take and start some testing after 12 months. After age 35, they say to see an specialist after 6 months.

I waited 8 months before seeing a specialist and Im 30. But I had past M/Cs and such and wanted to speed things up a little.

GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am 29 but I read on another site that 30 may be the new age that women are at risk for having fertility problems. I always thought it was 35. I am a little scared with the new info.

Dont think at 29 you have that much yet to worry about age wise at all. Im 30 and Im not worried about my age being a factor in TTC, just that we want a large family and it takes time to achieve it. Do you have normal cycles?

I'm started TTC at 32 and it took me 4 months (4th time a charm!) to conceive after seriously TTCing (a few months before we were serious we were just playing whatever happens, happens). My Dr. was NOT at all concerned about my age when I told him we were TTC. I am 5 months preggers now and my Dr. still has no above 30 concerns.

Good luck and baby dust!

I'm 30 and have been ttc for 10 months now...non of my Dr.'s have been concerned (even though I have been).

Have you been to a Dr. and gotten yourself checked out? If so, I wouldn't worry...be patient.
