HELP...
We are going to Disney for New Years, I know...  but its a family thing. I am trying to look forward to it b/c my little nephew is coming and my hubby has NEVER been there.
So anyway, we are flying Southwest out of McArthur. We totally lost out on the cheap flight and its like $800 for the two of us to fly there.  
So, do you think they will add more of the cheap rate flights????
HELP. I don't know if I should wait it out for a few more days, weeks or just book it to be safe.
P.S. The family has already booked there's.

I would wait it out. Is it possible to go from LGA? It might be worth the cheaper flight even if you DO have to pay for a cab.

$800 is too much. I am just nervous because of the time of yr and all.
I went in April and it was around $200

I booked my family to Orlando out of Islip for about $200 each - but for September.
If you do book it, I believe they will adjust the fare if it goes down (it might be for a credit though). I would call and check.

I would wait. It's too early to book now, the rates are going to be high.
When we went to Key West, I started looking at flights six months before and they were $$$$ - by three months before they had gone down more than half and we got round trip tickets for $230 each.

I agree with waiting. YOu have some time yet. Rates totally fluctuate! We flew to LV for 200 pp round trip - but 2 weeks earlier it was 500pp!

It's that time of year and you will pay more.
To try and compare rates between May and New Year's is just silly! The two can't compare.
I live in Orlando and am heading up north for Christmas, tickets to get b ack home are running at about $400. Next month school calendars will be released and I think the prices of holiday flights will increase even more.
With that said, I would def. check jetblue out of JFK or LGA

Yea....I have checked the other airlines. It about $20-30 cheaper, however McArthur Airport is so close to my house and so much easier that I think a few bucks more is totally worth it.
Thanks for all the advice. I think I may hold out but not for too much longer.

Southwest always has cheap flights. Download their DING program and you will get cheap flights everyday. Keep watching them. You will find something cheaper.
I recently got $59 each way to Houston and our friends got $33 each way from Chicago to Islip.

Honestly, I think I would book it and keep watching. Wait too long for that time of year, and you are going to be totally out of luck. If you book on Southwest and end up cancelling, I think you get a credit good for 1-2 years.

Does Airtran fly out of the city?? I heard their flights are good too. I am waiting for a SW Ding fare to MCO in Sept. Right now I have the 5 of us going (4 seats) for $715.

I would book it now. That is a busy time and the prices may just go up from there. With that being said, if you book Southwest and the fare drops you can get a refund (this does work, my mom got over $350 back for her trip in June).

I've heard that they will adjust the fare as well, but it could be in a form of a credit....best bet might be to call....Flying out of MacAurther is super convenient, though....good luck and let us know what happens!

I would book it- that's about what I pay to go to FL for Christmas- it's the time of year
on Jet Blue- I couldn't even get southwest
I am going to book all my tickets in the next few weeks
I don't fly out of Islip- but those tickets go fast around that time of year
