Re: Dumb Dumb question....
I didn't shower until the next day - I was way to exhausted and my back hurt so badly I had a hard time standing for too long. The shower felt sooo nice!

Re: Dumb Dumb question....
yes. i took a shower the next morning. I swore I would want to shower right after I delivered but honestly I had no energy and I was still quite shaky. They help you clean up though.

Re: Dumb Dumb question....
I think it depends... I ended up getting a c-section and due to the extreme pain and the surgery I couldn't get out of bed for a day, though I did get a "sponge bath" from one of the nurses (ICK!). The day after that I was allowed to shower...

Re: Dumb Dumb question....
I took a shower the next morning when I was leaving the hospital. After giving birth and time in recovery, the nurse helped me wash up using a peri bottle.

Re: Dumb Dumb question....
I had a c/s and wasn't allowed to shower until the 2nd day. You can barely walk so believe me, you aren't even thinking about a shower. But the nurses did come around and gave me a "squirt bath" - gross and refreshing at the same time.

Re: Dumb Dumb question....
I had a c-section and the first night after I delivered they came in twice and gave me a sponge bath type thing. I was embarasseda bout the idea but it felt so good to be clean! The spinal medication they gave me was making me SO itchy and so it just felt good, although the second woman who did it was annoying and didn't shut up and at 5:30 am I really just wanted to sleep!
The next day I took my first shower by myself and it just felt so good! Andn ow that we've been home for a week, I can say that showers turn into a luxury that you look forward to at the end of the day! You'll probably want to hop in as soon as youa re on your feet again in the hospital.
