Bored dogs
Holden gets super excited when we go for our daily walk. DH says that he read somewhere that this means he is bored. What can we do -- other than play, which we do a lot-- to keep him busy during the day? We have kongs, chew toys, etc. for them. TIA

Do you have a yard you can play in?
Sounds like he might need more exercise...I would take him for longer walks/runs and spend time outside running around playing catch or whatever.
This is what we did with our dogs...helped out so much! plus they are in great shape now

quinn gets crazy excited no matter how many times a day i bring him out... and even if he gets to run around in a backyard all day, and then i walk him a couple hours later, it's like he hasn't been out in a month. lol

Is there a dog park near you? I take my dog to the park all the time--she gets exhausted from running around w/ all the other dogs :)

Thanks everyone Our dogs go out in the backyard several times a day, and DH & I take them on a walk (usually about 1 hour) once a day. Dog park is a good idea.

I don't know if they are really bored.
Misty gets super excited over her walks, but she is a good dog otherwise and doesn't seem bored.
I think they just like the walks cuz it's different things to see and smell besides their house and yard.
I do take her to the dog park and she loves it, but she loves everything.

I think you're right -- it might just be that he loves walks. The funny thing is: he is our most laidback dog. But when it comes to walks, watch out
