i hope someone can HELP!
ok...so we just got back from vacation a few days ago... while we were gone, a mama bunny gave birth to a few babies in our backyard. (dh found the nest today as he was mowing, thank GOD he didn't hurt them ) - they did get startled and scattered throughout our yard! we did a little research, and did the best thing we could...gathered them up and put them back in the nest, as we learned that the mama bunnie comes back at night to feed them. they appear to be about 2 weeks old (full coat of fur, and eyes wide open) SO CUTE we were praying that all would be okay - but as we were having dinner tonight, we heard some squeals out back!! sure enough, a stray cat found the nest he killed 2 of the babies we searched the yard very carefully, and my husband found two so far safe and unharmed - they're very scared, but seem okay we gathered up the nest material and put it in a very large box and that's where they are right now. we don't know what to do next!!!! do we keep them and care for them? how? or do we call animal control? i do NOT want them destroyed!!! but i don't want to cause further harm!! someone please help!!
TIA

Re: i hope someone can HELP!
we had them in our backyard yesterday, those bunnies are old enough to be on their own. I hate the screams of baby bunnies when they are frightened, we have spent many hrs in our backyard at 2am trying to save baby bunnies from neighborhood cats. It's so horrible, but it truly is survival of the fittest We finally gave up after 5 nights in a row of trying to save our little bunnies, we were not alwasy successful . Keep them Christina, keep them

Re: i hope someone can HELP!
aww---so glad you can bring them to the vet tomorrow!
while they are in the box, try your best not to handle or touch them too much---wild bunnies can actually go into a type of shock due to "stress" if handled by humans too much.
they are lucky to have wound up in a yard like yours and saved!
