uses for tomato paste?
I bought one of those small cans to use 1 tablespoon for a recipe today. I hate to just chuck the rest of the can-- anything that I can do with it, that's not a PITA?

you can use it in a homemade seafood stock. Not sure if you have any shrimp shells lying around, but I always freeze them and make a stock.

if you dont want to throw away the tomato paste....you can freeze it in small portions to use when you need in the future.
you can either put them on a backing sheet or in an ice cube tray to freeze...when frozen completly, put in ziplock bag...pull one or two our when needed

FYI They sell tomato paste in a tube so you just squirt out what oyu need.

i put it in burgers....
ground turkey meat
a couple of cloves of garlic
tablespoon of tomato paste
fresh basil
make into patties and pan fry or broil.

yeah I know... but that's sometimes hard to find.
I've actually NEVER found it. My MIL buys it for me because the Waldbaums and Stop and Shop by me don't carry it. I never heard of it before Rachael Ray, just wanted to share in case anyone has never heard.

You can add it to jarred tomato sause to make it thicker.

If there is an Uncle Giusseppe's by your house, they sell the tomato paste and Garlic Paste in a tube. I just recently bought them last week. Not expensive either.
