for those who did not have the ultrascreen?
i am opting to not have it done I just do not need the stress of a false positive. I wanted to know if I will have a sonogram though at y next appointment or since I am not having the test will they not give me a sonogram?

the ultrasound/sono or are you talkig about an ultrascreen?
I did not have an ultrascreen at the 12 week appt, and did get a sono

 Oh Boy that's my pregnancy brain for you. Yes thank you I meant to say Ultrascreen. I do not plan on having one, but still hope I get to see the baby thru a sono next appointment.

An ultrascreen is just a screening to see what percentage of a change you have for the baby to have Downs or Trisomy 18. It's not a diagnostic tool - just a pre-screen type of thing. Its not mandatory although I felt more comfortable hearing that things looked good. The Ultrascreen is 90% accurate and there are false positives but that doesnt mean anything is wrong with the baby - it just means that yuo should have more testing. It's a fairly new screening and I was thankful it was offered to me, but I'm sure not everyone has it done.

the only reason I do not want it is because I am aware of the false positives and that would drive me insane.
