I got one last year at Burlington Coat Factory around November.
the trick is to go to stores like that NOT looking for a coat, then you'll find one  we were there b/c DH was looking for one.
I also have luck at Macy's, but I only buy them on sale. I can't pay full price for something I know will be 1/2 or less price in 2 months  I got one at Macy's last year too (again, I was not even looking for coat lol) and it was $30!!!!! marked down from $200. it still has the tags on it. so I guess I won't be buying one this year.

same for me... I got a 400 buck Michael Kors coat for less than $150!!!
I bet you can still probably get a sale now (last season's coats) if you looked in Loehmans, Saks Off Fifth or something like that.
