NYC TEACHERS PLEASE HELP: UPDATE

I just received an email from NYC DOE that stated that I will be paid based on the information I provided on teachnyc. The information there states that I have my MA in Education.

Then it says something about being paid at the BA level unless you submit a form that indicates otherwise. I downloaded the form and it says "Only complete if you have prior NYC DOE experience". I do NOT have DOE experience. Only experience on LI.

So what do I do???? Who do I call????

GRRR this is frustrating. The difference in pay is a LOT of money.

Any advice, knowledge, would be greatly appreciated.

I called and I do have to fill out the form. The first woman I spoke with was the sweetest, most helpful person I have ever encountered over the phone. The lady she passed the call to was rude and I don't think she had any idea what she was talking about. I am going to call one more time to confirm the information she gave me.

That second part may be for para's going back to work or teaching fellows people, maybe?

You need to submit proof that you have a Masters or they will not pay you for your Masters

Ahhh, beautyq might be right. And do it!!! I don't know what happened, but my paperwork showing my masters never got to them and I made base for a whole year and I SHOULD have been making 5K more!

No here is the form that you need It's the differential form...you also need an official transcript. One that has the school seal stamped on it.

there is the salary step form that is for time and a salary differential form that is for credits. Send them both in. I actually hand delivered them to court street. You will need all your transcripts to send with the form.

Call the UFT of the office of salary status & differentials 718.935.2642 or 2643 they may be helpful.

I am pretty annoyed that I got this email very late in the afternoon yesterday and apparently the paperwork is due by August 15th. That means I will be on the phone and running around all day on Monday and have to send it certified overnight (if they even do that). CRAZY@@

What happened when you called? Did you fill out the paperwork....where did you mail it to, Court St?

I have the paperwork and have to run out to Dowling tonight to get my transcripts.

I have to put in the mail tomorrow.

Does anybody know if I can do certified overnight mail???? If I can not, I have to drive to BKLYN on Wednesday and I do NOT want to do that.
