spinoff to threading
I have been getting my eyebrows waxed for years... but I started using retin-a a few months ago, so I can no longer wax. I have been going to my aesthician and she has been just tweezing-- but I feel like the hair comes back much quicker than waxing. How does threading compare?

Re: spinoff to threading
For some reason threading KILLS me! I'd rather stick needles behind my fingernails than get threaded.
ETA: Results are usually good though.

Re: spinoff to threading
I only had my eyebrows threaded once but my skin remained red and a bit swollen for a WEEK!
This was a few years ago and I never went back. But I was talking to a girl I work with yesterday and she explained that sometimes the women can be heavy handed and that you need to make sure they know your skin is sensitive.
I'm tempted to try it again b/c the shape was gorgeous and it lasted quite awhile.

I love threading - I think it is much easier than waxing.

Re: spinoff to threading
I love threading, I'll never go back to waxing. I agree that it depends on the person, one girl I go to is wonderful, she is very gentle and I don't feel a thing. If I'm desperate I'll go to another girl who is a little rough but I love the results of threading that I go to her anyway, if the other girl is not available.
I go to a place in Floral Park but now need a new one around Syosset because we are moving.

Re: spinoff to threading
It's right on Gardiners across from King Kullen. I park in on the side where Kmart use to be. It doesn't take long at all.

Re: spinoff to threading
My brows were messsssyyyyy - I let them grow out for weeks so i could get them reshaped. The girl was awesome! She had them reshaped and perfectly smooth in about 6 minutes.
