Re: Spinach Dip

My favorite cold one is from the Knorr's soup mix. It is delicious and always a big hit.

1 package Knorr vegetable soup mix
1 cup mayo
1 container (16 oz. I believe) sour cream
1 (but I put 2) boxes thawed frozen spinach
(I nuke them for 8 min. then drain them completely and cool before mixing in)

Serve w/ tortilla chips, veggies, crackers, pita chips, etc.

Here's a delicious hot one:

1/4 cup butter
crushed garlic cloves (I used 3)
1 (10 ounce) package frozen chopped spinach (cooked in microwave, cooled and drained completely)
1 (14 ounce) can artichoke hearts, drained and chopped
1 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese, softened
1(16 ounce) containers sour cream
1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
garlic salt to taste
DIRECTIONS
Melt butter in a large saucepan over medium heat. Stir in crushed garlic and cook for a few minutes. Add the spinach and artichoke hearts. Cook until tender, about 5 minutes.
Mix cream cheese and sour cream into the spinach mixture. Stir in Parmesan cheese and garlic salt. Cook, stirring occasionally, until thickened, 10 to 15 minutes. Serve warm.

I also use the Knorr's version -Ived used either fresh or frozen spinach and it has worked out fine. I serve the dip in a breadbowl using a pumpernickel loaf and always get good reviews.

Re: Spinach Dip

Sounds horrible, but Tostitos makes one in a jar in the salsa aisle that I think is out of this world!

Stop and shop actually sells a powder mix that is pretty good. YOu just add sourcream and water chestnuts, if desired.

I use the recipe on the back of the Knorr's or Lipton vegetable soup but I NEVER put mayo in. I hate the taste.

Re: Spinach Dip

I use the one on the side of the Lipton's Vegetable Soup Mix box. I love it and I get requests for it all the time. It's sooo easy too.

Re: Spinach Dip

soften to room temp cream cheese and mix with 1 container of sour cream.
Add 1 packet of onion soup mix
thaw overnight frezen chopped spinach. Drain well, there is nothing worse than runny dip. I use a very fine strainer.

Mix and chill for at least 1 hour.

It's always been my fav and everyone loves it!

This is the one I make, but I don't usually add the mayo. I sometimes add water chestnuts, which makes it really nice.

OR, go to Price Club and buy the container in the refrigerated section. It's really good -- you'd never know it wasn't homemade!
