Teacher Associations

Which do you belong to? Does your school pay for your membership? Do you find them beneficial?

Re: Teacher Associations

I belong to the National Council for Teacher of Mathematics. My school doesn't pay for it - but it is well worth it to me. They have a monthly magazine that always has awesome ideas in it.

Re: Teacher Associations

Yea I was a member of that. There are about 4-5 business organizations and I'm not sure which one is the most beneficial since I really don't want to pay for all of them!

ETA I wonder if it is better to be a member at the National, State or Local Level?

I have a local and a state membership. I attend a conference from the local one once a year which is great. I just attended the state workshops this summer and they were amazing. I pay for them. It's nice to write on my year end evaluation.

Re: Teacher Associations

my district pays for 2 of my professional memberships. The other two I pay for myself. Atleast with my personal memberships I can keep all of the matierlas and I still have it if I leave the district and go elsewhere.
