My cousin's wish granted!
I'm sorry folks, I don't post on here at all:( I probably should being that the loss my family had in March was probably the worst we've all ever had to experience.
We lost my 15 year old cousin to Cystic Fibrosis in March of this year. It was a long battle. She was waiting for a 2nd lung transplant and was battling so hard but couldn't win the fight. She was the bravest person I knew. Wise beyond her years!
Growing up, she was a girl scout and for one of her projects she had to find a charity and donate to it. Well she saw this episode on Oprah where for literally PENNIES a day, a child in a rural part of Africa could receive school books and uniforms. She was sold. She collected change from anyone who would listen to her. Oprah became her new hero. Unfortunately she became sick very quickly and her mission never got completed.
So a few weeks ago, my aunt was starting the (grueling) process of going through her room and sorting out some things. She came across a HUGE envelope labeled "Africian Children School Funds". She immediately called the Oprah show, explained the story and asked them where to send it. They were touched by the whole scenario and asked her if it'd be alright to tell the story on the show. She declined their invite to be present but they are going to tell her story!!
This just touches my heart in so many ways. She had many wishes in her last few months, many of them could not be fulfilled because there was no time. I'm happy that this selfless act of hers didn't go unnoticed!

I'm so sorry that she has pasted away.
So glad to hear that she will leave a mark on this earth with her kidness.
My friends two brothers have that disease. Truly is a horrible disease.

I am so sorry for the loss of your cousin Laura, and at way too young of an age. that is just devastating. However, that story about Oprah is amazing and made me well up reading it. I know your cousin must be smiling somewhere. Hugs to your family.
