Show me some nice styles for long hair

I have had long hair all my life and I usually prefer a simple cut with no layers, just a slight angle on the sides. My hair has been growing rapidly during my pregnancy, and needs at least a trim. I just made an appointment with my favorite hairdresser. I want something easy to care for but I am afraid that if I get too much cut off, I will be very sad about it during the post partum phase. I had bangs for years but I do not want to deal with the maintenance of frequent bang trims (I tried bangs again but now I am growing them out). Everyone tells me to put some layers in but I am not sure. My hair can go straight or curly pretty easily, but the curl does get weighed down by the length at times.

Here are pictures that show how it looks lately. I cannot stand how the ends look stringy but after a haircut with this guy that is always taken care of!! I have a side part for these pictures but I also really like a center part.

SUGGESTIONS??? (other than a bag over my head)

what about a cut... to above your chest.... with side-swept bangs -- and a few angles?

I can't really see your bangs, but I would grow them out to about your chin. As for the rest of your hair...cut off a few inches...layering your hair as well.
I think that a darker strawberry blonde would be perfect with your skintone. (that is, if you want to color your hair as well...)

I think you need a really stylish cut to a little above your shoulders. Right now you don't really have a style....like the previous poster said, something shorter with angles and layers and I like the idea of the side swept bangs on you. Good luck!

Wow Kerie, your hair did get long. I agree with the other ladies. Shoulder length angled with side swept bangs...I also agree to get some layers.

I love the color of your hair too.

Your hair seems a little like mine...fine and naturally wavy.

I definitely think you should cut a few inches...what if you did something like this pic?...for me, its all about the right styling product to get the waves to stay together and not frizz out! Ask your stylist what he suggests. I just started wearing my hair naturally wavy (instead of blowing it out straight) so I too am on the hunt for something I like for my waves!



eta: I just had a cut and had my stylist cut a lot of short peices/layers throughout my hair ... the bottom is still long but I have layers all over the place and I love it because it gives my hair more body and helps keep the waves in check!
