How long were your twins in newborn diapers?

My next door neighbors are about to become grandparents to twins, and I plan on making a diaper cake for the new parents. Her doctor has already said he won't let her go past 36 weeks for some medical reason (I didn't want to be nosy and ask why). So do you think a cake of 150 or so newborn diapers is good? Or should I do my typical 40ish each of newborn, size 1 and size 2?

OK, my memory is foggy about those first sleeep deprived days but I'll try...lol.

I think my kids went through at least two cases of newborn diapers so over 200. Mine were also 5 lbs. (he was in preemies for about a week or so) and 6lbs. 6 oz., pretty good size for twins. I'm sure hers will be smaller, most likely.

Considering you do about 16-20 diaper changes a day in the first few weeks... 150 newborn diapers will get them through, about a week.

Oh, but wait, if either is in the NICU they won't need as much. Maybe stick to the newborns, size 1 and size 2.

My twins were born at 35 weeks and weighed in at 4lbs 2 oz and 4lbs 11 oz. They were home at 7 days and 10 days. She will definitely use AT LEAST the 150 diapers, if not many more.

DDs were born at 36 weeks as well - they were in Newborn diapers for a month and a half. 150 will probably get them through the first week. That is VERY sweet of you!
