I'm in so much pain
Girls I don't know what is going on. But Im in agony. I cant take it anymore. Im in pain no matter if Im laying, standing, sitting. Its in my back and shoots across my belly and down my leg and butt. I cant take it. My OBGYN said in addition to my sore back, I have round ligament pains bc my uterus is very large already. But this doesnt feel like that - this is a constant pain like knife in my side and I dont know what it is. Did you have anythign like this? It even hurts to walk and to go to the bathroom. Im so sick of feeling bad.

Re: I'm in so much pain
Maybe it's the sciatic nerve? I'm not sure what it feels like, but I've heard it's extremely painful, and fairly common in pregnant women.
I hope you can find a comfortable position.

Re: I'm in so much pain
I'm not sure what it could be, but it doesn't sound normal, if you are in that much pain. I would call the doc again. Hope you feel better soon!

Re: I'm in so much pain
I think you should call your doctor again...can you walk? About a week ago, I had such bad sciatic nerve pain...but, it wasn't in my belly at all...it started in my butt and shot down my leg a bit.
I needed to hold on to things in order to walk. But, I was able to sit and sleep with no pain.
I hope you're feeling better soon!

Re: I'm in so much pain
Yup, it sounds like the sciatic nerve. I get this sometimes (even before being PG). You need to stretch the hip (I'm guessing the right hip?)- lie on your back and bring your right knee to your chest, then pull your knee towards your left shoulder. You'll feel a stretch in the glute/hip area. Also, try a heating pad, or wet heat if you have it. Keep stretching that muscle!
Hope that helps
Edited to add a better explanation of the stretch that I just found online, plus a standing version:
To do the piriformis stretch, lie on your back, and flex the right hip and knee. Now, while grasping the right knee with your left hand, pull the knee towards your left shoulder. This adducts and flexes the hip. In this position, grasp just above the right ankle with the right hand, and rotate the ankle outwards. This applies internal rotation to the hip and completes the stretch. Another way to do this stretch is to stand on your left foot and place the right foot on a chair, such that the right knee and hip are flexed at about 90 degrees. Now, using the right hand, press the right knee across towards the left side of the body while keeping the ball of the right foot on the same spot on the chair.

Re: I'm in so much pain
Sorry I have sciatic nerve pain in my legs too! Some days are better than others. Hope you feel better sooN!
ETA: You have to see me get up 100 times a night to go to the bathroom. I am like a 100 year old lady, I can barely walk!

Re: I'm in so much pain
Hi Kathy, it def sounds like what the girls are saying the sciatic nerve, my SIL had this really bad when she was pregnant, she had gotten this tube that you sit on that helps eleviate the pain and it worked. I think she got it at a medical store. It was blue and looked like a regular pool tube that the kids put around thier waste. I hope you feel better!!!

Re: I'm in so much pain
It might be sciatica, I dont know. My regular dr is out and the other dr wants to send me for a test to see if i have kidney stones. it isnt kidney stones - its something else. its so frustrating. I took 2 tylenol, I dont think they do anything much. I wish i knew what was causing the pain, I should have stayed home today.

Re: I'm in so much pain
I don't understand, the pain has subsided enough now that I'm not seeing stars anymore. Is this a symptom of sciatica?

Re: I'm in so much pain
K- My mom has been dealing with a pinched nerve causing severe sciatica for a few weeks now, what you are describing sounds EXACTLY like what shes going through as well. I dont have advice since theres only a number of safe meds for you while PG, but I would definatly discuss it more with the DR As soon as they get in. My Mom was seeing a chiropractor , maybe that can help? It was helping her pain a little....
She had a spinal block put in, BUT she had a severly herniated disk in her back. Yours sounds like the pregnancy causing it, and I have heard of sooo many women experiencing it in PG.
I know how painful it must be, HANG IN THERE
