Do I let this go?

My department chair has been fantastic for the past 6 years. We get along nicely, but lately she has been a little snippy with me. I backed out of a project (mapping) because it conflicted with the closing dates and such of the house we just bought. Ever since then, I feel like she has been nit-picky with everything I do.

I got an e-mail from her recently that said this: Your room looks nice. How did you get away with not taking down your stuff from last year? I can't believe I didn't check before I signed your sheets. Sneaky, sneaky.

Now - in June, we are "supposed" to take down every single thing on the walls in our rooms. I have done this for the past 6 June's and decided that I was going to leave everything up this year. It's not like they paint the walls or anything over the summer. I spend time taking down in June and then putting up the exact same posters in the exact same spots in August. This year, I decided just to not do it. Why waste the time and effort?

Do I even write anything back to her or do I just let it go?

I feel like she's been singling me out for little things since I pulled out of the mapping project. Don't even get me started on the memo she sent to the curriculum director and superintendent about the issue. Chat Icon

I'm sorry if this seems silly to even stress over, but I hat the feeling of having to walk on eggshells around my "superiors".

That email sounds petty and immature.
It is her responsibility to sign off.
(I totally understand you bc the SAME thing happens in our school.)

I would leave it alone. JMO.

Did they put one of these letters in your file?
So petty and annoying.
Just be on the lookout for her and perform at yourpersonal best so you don't give her the opportunity to use her snide comments.

I would let it go. You have nothing to gain by replying back, and technically - you did "break" a rule.
